- WORLD BANK ORGANIZATION

TO DATE, 21 OF THE 60 SCHOOLS HAVE DESKS, MEANING 9,450 CHILDREN HAVE BEEN LIFTED OUT OF THE DIRT AND INTO A DESK FOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE.

Since the implementation of desks in schools in Alenga, test scores and attendance rates are higher. These wonderful improvements have caught the attention of thelocal government who are now working to provide extra funding to schools withdesks. Parents are beginning to understand the value of education and are working to pay for their children's school fees and sending their children to school instead of keeping them home to work— thus, enrollment has increased and dropout rates are down. More students are advancing to secondary school than ever before.

“We were sitting down on the ground and writing down, but right now we have desks - performance has improved, students are proud, and they are happy.”
